Honorary Citizens

Honorary Citizens of Radomsko were significant people in a history of our country.

Józef Piłsudski (1867 - 1935) – the First Marshall of Poland, supreme chieftain, holded public office twice as a Prime Minister. Announced as a Honorary Citizen in 1920.

Tadeusz Różewicz (1921 - 2014) – a poet, playwright, prosewriter, screenwriter. He is considered as one of the most prominent modern writers; received a honorary title in 1991.

John Paul II (1920 - 2005) – God’s Factotum of the Catholic Church who served as a Pope 27 years (1978 – 2005). In 2001 he became a Honorary Citizen.

Stanisław Różewicz (1924 - 2008) – a film and theatre director, screenwriter, university lecturer, and artistic director of Film Group “TOR”; Honorary Citizen since 2008.

Jerzy Semkow (1928 - 2014) – a leading and world-class conductor, university lecturer, and promoter of polish music. He received a honorary title in 2008.
